How to Produce Presentation Posters

Finally, your boss trusts you to represent the company on business meetings and events. As a challenge, he requested you to research on a certain subject and make a presentation about it next week. He doesn’t want you to use your laptop or a projector to make the presentation. Apparently, he wants to see how you will handle yourself when making a presentation without using modern gadgets. So he told you to use posters.

What do you do? You have been born in the twenty-first century where everything seems to be electronic. Your laptop is glued to you 24/7, and it is practically the only thing you know how to you. Sure, you have seen poster printing of famous boy bands or blockbuster movies. Aren’t they the same as the poster your boss expects you to use? Not really. Although the purpose is the same, business posters or presentation posters in particular lean more on information rather than images.

Posters are actually visual materials that are used to communicate information or ideas. Instead of doing all the talking, the poster serves as your voice. It conveys the essence of your message to your audience. If you want to convince your audience (or your boss) as to the credibility of your speech, you can use the poster to provide visual support.

It can look easy to create a poster, but nevertheless there are some considerations you need to think about.

Size

The poster is not meant to bombard your readers with too many information. You can’t put everything you have to say to people on the material. You only use it to guide your presentation or support your claims. If you are going to present at a conference, ask the organizer what size is allowed. If it’s your boss you are going to present to, just keep it to the standard size.

Format

Remember that a presentation poster is different from an advertising poster. You will deal with information on a presentation poster. To keep your idea organized, follow this format:

-    Title
-    Summary
-    Introduction
-    Theory
-    Results
-    Conclusion/Recommendation

This is like making an oral presentation. You start with the summary of your research and end it with a conclusion or recommendation. But because there is limited space, you need to make use of every space effectively. Print poster which includes only the important details about your presentation and do away with the unnecessary ones. Good planning is required if you want your presentation and your poster to be successful. Even though you are a smooth talker, that won’t help divert your boss’s attention from your poorly planned material.

You always have the option of asking the help of a reputation printing company to help with your material. Although this will cost you extra, you can be assured that your poster will look pristine and incredible. That will help boost your image and impress your boss.

Remember that this is your one chance to impress your boss, so make the most of it. Do everything in your power to make the presentation as impressive as possible. Don’t let a disappointing poster ruin your chance to move up the ladder in the company. Instead, work diligently on your presentation poster and it might just be your ticket to success.
