Here are a few tips (unless you’d rather be buying gold online—in which I direct you to the link at the bottom of this article) Anyway,  panning  for gold nuggets is best done in a tub or pool of still, clear water, a spot where you can get good balance. for maximum recovery of gold nuggets, try panning the streams to pick up sediment that is as uniform in size as possible. (Remove big pebbles and stones larger than about 1 inch from your pan before you even begin—and it will be easier to find gold nuggets.) Take care to wash these stones so that the sand and clay attached to them stays in your pan. Gently raise and lower the lip of the pan in and out of the water to remove lighter dirt and stones. After these lighter materials have been washed off the top you can then repeat the process of shaking the pan from side to side with the same type of motion used originally to help concentrate the materials and move the heaviest of the bottom. Gold nuggets will not always work its way right down to the bottom of the pan - sometimes it gets stuck along the way down.
