| 1923 $5 Lincoln "Porthole" Silver Certificate |
| the popular Porthole Note is one of the top favorite designs in American currency! This collectible bill is one of the last of the U.S. large-size five-dollar bills issued before the Treasury's conversion to small size notes. It's also the first solo appearance of Lincoln on the five dollar note where he remains to this day. The porthole, round portrait design was never used again, giving way to a more oval framing of the personality illustrated. |
